Today there was a short service in St John the Baptist Church, followed by a tree planting ceremony, to mark the 25th Anniversary of the appointment of Bishop Colton to the position of Bishop of Cork, Cloyne & Ross.  Bishop Colton has been closely associated with the school over those years, and is currently the Chair of the Board of Governors, the Trustee body of Midleton College.  Following the service, there was a tree planting ceremony in the school at around 12.00pm.
