Triumph and Excitement at the Maryville Equestrian Centre: Midleton College Riders Shine Bright!

It was a day marked by thrill, skill, and undeniable triumph. Yesterday, at the Maryville Equestrian Centre in Carrigaline, our Midleton College riders dazzled the crowd and swept the winners’ enclosure, each earning their well-deserved rosettes. The cheers and applause resonated through the arena as we celebrated our best outing to date with this talented team.

Team Competition Drama: The fierce combination of Zara Richardson, Hazel Dwyer, Tessa Dwyer, and Ava Huggard charged to an astonishing second-place finish. In a nail-biting jump-off against the clock, our riders were edged out by a mere 4 faults in the ring. Though we were pipped at the post to finish 2nd overall, the excitement and pride were second to none.

Individual Achievements Shine: In the Individual 60s event, Fionn Loughnane soared to a fantastic 3rd place finish, while Grace Day’s clear round on her brand new pony (competing for the first time ever in the ring) won her a much-celebrated rosette.

In the Individual 80s event, Sadhbh Holohan’s faultless round in a breathtakingly fast time was rewarded with a gleaming medal.

A Grand Finale to the Season: What a way to conclude the year! With heads held high and hearts filled with joy, our riders have written a remarkable chapter in the Midleton College Equestrian story. Their dedication, teamwork, and unbreakable spirit have given us moments to cherish and a season to remember.

A resounding WELL DONE to all the riders and a special salute to their chef d’équipe, Ms. Dawson, for leading them to success.

This isn’t just a win; it’s a testament to the passion and excellence that define Midleton College. Here’s to the champions of today and the bright promise of tomorrow!
